Contrel Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in 1998, formerly known as Contrel Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd.. It is a reinvestment business of Tongtai Machine & Tool Co., Ltd., and was initially dedicated to designing and producing IC packaging and testing equipment. In 1999, due to the take-off of the optoelectronics industry and the determination of Chi Mei Electronics to localize the equipment, it turned to the R&D and production of panel equipment. In 2004, it was renamed Contrel Technology Co., Ltd. and used the manufacturing process for the TFT-LCD panel factory.
